SUSTAINABILITY - THE PROBLEM
A GROWING THREAT
The oceans face a massive and growing threat from something you encounter everyday: plastics. An estimated 17.6 billion pounds of plastic leaks into the marine environment from land-based sources every year—this is roughly equivalent to dumping a garbage truck full of plastic into the oceans every minute.
"A GARBAGE TRUCK'S WORTH OF PLASTIC ENDS UP IN THE OCEAN EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY"
RECYCLING IS NOT ENOUGH
Unfortunately, one of the most popular solutions to plastic pollution falls far short. A meager 9 percent of all plastic waste generated has been recycled. Recycling alone is not enough to solve the plastics crisis. To have an impact, we must reduce the amount of single-use plastic being produced at the source.
Our mission is to make the best Eco Friendly products, and that starts with the look & feel. That's why we use Ocean Balance fabric. It's a sustainably sourced, polyester fiber that use's fishing nets, carpets and other post consumer goods.
The result is a high preforming quick drying technical fabric ideal for being in, on or around the water.
Rash’R Recycling Process
At Rash’R we not only create products made from 100% recycled polyesters, but we also use it in combination with other equally materials such as Recycled Elastane in order to create a wide range of sustainable performance fabric options.
Oceanbalance Recycled Polyesters are environmentally friendly, cost-effective and safe; the regenerated polyester fibre is made from recycled Ocean waste plastics and post consumer plastic bottles and performs as well as regular virgin polyester.
